Cooley Point to Seaport

Start/End: Parked start car just at Cooley Point. The gates were open just before sunrise. Parked end car at the Redwood City marina which was accessible pre-dawn.

Long and not especially interesting run. Early part was nice in the very early light. A few people were around with their dogs in the first mile. Saw a jackrabbit.

At the bridge saw the new Meta sign, Facebook's new name, which only just changed.

We circled Bedwell Bayfront park and enjoyed the friendly locals walking there. Ok views out to the bay and appreciated the park had some trees and is starting to turn green. I assume this is another trash mound though.

Beyond the park it's a Bay Trail gap and not very pedestrian friendly up to Seaport (though there's a bike lane). Sidewalks come and go for the first part, then the rest is along the freeway frontage wall.

At seaport we got to the turn for our car at the Marina but decided to walk up and around the old PDI/Dreamworks buildings. I used to once work on Seaport. Seemed like a nice spot, so we might come back with the dog. We missed a bit of Bay Trail near the boats up at the end, so another reason to return.

Fun facts about this segment: at the Seaport end is PDI, where Shrek was made. I interviewed there and got offered a job — I took a job at ILM instead. Separately, halfway back down towards 101 is a small tech park where I worked for 8 months on a contract.
