Map 25: Golden Gate Bridge To Mill Valley· Saturday, January 8, 2022
Start/End: Mill Valley Middle School.
Notes: We've decided for this weekend's runs we aren't going to shuttle, give that a break and save some tolls, so not as much progress today (because we had to run back to our car as well).
Cold morning. The bridge was frozen as we began our trek by being harassed by a small but enthusiastic trash collection truck whipping this way and that around the foggy Bayfront Park.
A pretty run today, as might be expected in Tiburon, with great views south to The City that reminded me of our first views of the Salesforce tower as we made our way north. I think that might have been from Candlestick Point.
Interestingly, when we think of Marin, we think of expensive wooden houses in the redwoods, but a lot of this section is actually through fairly high density housing. Judging by the cars in the numbered spots, these condos are not cheap either.
The Harbor Point dedicated section, a path branching off the core route both north and south, was really pretty with views out to the rest of Tiburon and south to SF, and where we saw the most people. Friendly bunch too, with cute doggies.
Anyway, the original plan was to run all the way into Tiburon today, but we revised when we decided not to shuttle. That leaves a fairly long run tomorrow to try and circle Paradise loop. We'll see how that goes. Not in great long running shape after the holidays.
Stopped at Johnny Donuts in Larkspur on the way back across the Richmond bridge afterwards. I mean, fuel is fuel.
